THE PASTS, PRESENTS AND FUTURES EXHIBITION FEATURED A DYNAMIC RANGE OF ARTWORKS FROM FILMS TO ILLUSTRATIONS, PHOTOGRAPHY TO EMERGING TECHNOLOGIES.
PASTS DELVED INTO THE RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN THEN AND NOW THROUGH DOCUMENTARY, ILLUSTRATION, FILM AND PHOTOGRAPHY.
PRESENTS EXAMINED THE MEDIA, POPULAR CULTURE, AND ARTIST’ EXPERIENCE TO EXPLORE THE WAY WE INTERACT WITH THE WORLD.
AND FUTURES SHOWCASED A RANGE OF EMERGING TECHNOLOGIES TO DEMONSTRATE ITS POTENTIAL USES AND TO QUESTION WHETHER IT SHOULD BE CONSIDERED AS A VALID FORM OF ART.
WHERE WAS IT?
We collaborated with Friction Arts for the Pasts, Presents and Futures exhibition , which took place in their studio space in Birmingham; The Edge (Cheapside, Deritend, B12 0QH).
For 30 years, Friction Arts has produced an ambitious programme of creative work, often in partnership or collaboration with artists from all kinds of disciplines. Friction arts runs Birmingham’s only free visual art club for young people delivered by professional artists, Among many other projects.
